Meh, you have to live with it. The older society usually has its comfort zone and doesn't like to stray too far from it. Had the same problem in my little Baptist Church. But, as the youth takes a firmer stand in the community, the more it is accepted. Just tell your Youth Leaders that they should just keep trying stuff to do with the youth, and make it so the whole community is involved somehow. It's slow going, but it works.
The thing is, the youthgroup is pretty much this:
Five Senior Guys who don't sing, ever
One senior girl who sings
Two sophomores that sing very rarely
One who sings a lot but when she does its usually disgusting rap songs
A freshman guy who never sings
and two 8th graders who dont sing.... so we really can't do much with that...
Our youth leader is 60 or 70 or older and there's this other youth group tha tmy friends go to and they get people to come all the time, and i dont mind that htey get people to come, i think thats great, but i can think of at least two people that started going to my church and then they talked to them and they went to their church...when i invite people to church, theyre usually like 'my church is better!' it gets annoying sometimes, you know? cause soon, six people will be at college and that doesnt leave many people since the closest person to our age is around 9 i think...
Well i dont know... I mean yeah their church sounds fun and all but i've been at my church for 11 years now and theyre a different denomination. not that i have anything against other denominations or anything.a couple of thepeople who started at my church and went to that church are now back at mine...theyre getting like all the skaters to go to their c hurch now and im proud of them for it but if someones already got a church then i dont think they should say "you should come to my church!"
1. 6 years.
2. Number 32:23 - "You can be sure that your sins will find you out." (I'm a big Jim Carrey fan and yet I've never seen THE NUMBER 23.)
3. Casting Crowns is pretty good, but I like stuff like Elvis gospel and I'm a huge KJ-52 fan!! "MY NAME IS KJ AKA KJ-52!" Awesome!
Um I've been saved about 9 or so years. It was a while ago when I was 6 I think. There are so many verses I can't really choose one, maybe John 3:16 lol. Tree63, newsboys, ect.
My favorite bible verse is probably Jeremiah 20:9-12:
9 But if I say, “I will not mention him
or speak any more in his name,”
his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot.
10 I hear many whispering,
“Terror on every side!
Report him! Let's report him!”
All my friends
are waiting for me to slip, saying,
“Perhaps he will be deceived;
then we will prevail over him
and take our revenge on him.”
11 But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior;
so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.
They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced;
their dishonor will never be forgotten.
12 O Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous
and probe the heart and mind,
let me see your vengeance upon them,
for to you I have committed my cause.
I've been saved for most of my life, but have been really into it for a couple of years now. I really don't have a favorite verse, and my favorite bands are Skillet, Kutless, Red, 12 Stones, pretty much anything christian rock
I have been saved since I was 7, my life verse is 2 Corinthians 7:1 , and as for my favorite band.... I have a lot...
Reliant K, ThousandfootKrutch, Switchfoot, Petra, Boyz inthe sink, and Delirious?
