If a life is not changed that life is not born again.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
Born again is not changing your ways its baptizing your self.
The dying thief on the cross was not baptized. Christ told him that that very day he would be with him in paradise.
