Just Another Gravity Assisted Suicide©

As I write on this paper,
Hands shaking as I think of you,
I thought back to the time when
I confessed my undying love to you,
And this love was like unconditional surrender.

But what I failed to realize is,
You were only after my soul,
And this empire I created
Came burning to the ground
As I write this ultimatum.

So I folded this weeping paper
And gripped it tight in these forsaken hands
As I stood on this edge and waited
For your birthday party to end,
Then I saw you laughing with friends so I stepped off this ledge.

The ground was cold but my blood was colder,
I was selfish and stupid but
I stood by my ideals as your screams reached my ears,
“Happy birthday” slipped through my lips as I died,
And you will remember this day when I landed at your feet in 9.8
