There aren’t really limits on this one, it could be skills, tactics or something you buy, like a gun. It’s ok to make jokes but this is mainly about REAL stuff that REAL ninjas would find useful.
i think that a useful would be a samuri tanto (short sword). it is easily disguisable and a silent weapon so it suits the line of work. the only drawback is how close you need to be to use it and in modern day society it is harder to sneak around.
Machettes.Gore to the max.But just for easy missions cause it's a damn big blade for a ninja.
For more sneaky situations I'd say paper clips.Deadly stuff.
If you are having trouble manipulating time i suggest throwing knives, they are easily concealable, useful as ranged weapons and useful at close range.
Ok guys keep it real... REAL STUFF... USEFUL STUFF
I have always thought of carrying a few Shuriken on me if i join the army. Traditionally they were used as self defence weapons to strike at the necks carotid artery (between body armour) or to strike the opponents hand while drawing the sword from its sheath at the belt (if worn by samurai or ashigaru). I figure that it would work just as well on an enemy’s gun hand. It was possible to become proficient with these weapons. Alternatively I could use throwing knives which are easier.

In reply to Tweakasaki:
Yea, tanto’s are cool. The only thing is it’s shiny and reflects light which would be useful if it was larger as ninjas used to hold there katanas’ above their heads to reflect light into the opponents eyes. But on a smaller weapon it just adds danger which is why I believe the USSOCOM purchase knives with anodised (painted) blades. The sharp point of the tonto’s blade makes it particularly adept at stabbing.
In reply to Nevermore:
I would prefer a khukri as they are better at chopping than the regular machete or parang. This is due to its inward curve apparently, while machetes and other curved swords are better at cutting due to there being more blade and the movement carryout. In similarity to the katana once the khukri is drawn in battle it has to ‘taste blood’. This tradition is not upheld.
In reply to JJ Ellis:
Knives are good and reasonable easy to use. Remember; if anyone holds the knife blade down underneath there pinkie and especially if they come from Eastern Europe, just run. Knife fighting is taught in some Eastern European armies.
has to be mission specific like if recon in a situation where if you get caught period your dead or imprissoned a small caliber silenced pistol and a combat knife will do but if your in an urban setting gathering intel and such you need something effective silent low mess and legal in case getting caught even tho if your skilled enough that wont happen you just got to weigh your options but a simple stick or club mabe a cane or something. in the wilderness the gloves are off anything that makes noise may be considered against ninja but they can help to cause panic distract and cause more damage ultimatly causing mayhem controled by you giving the advantage against multiple oponents.
Like you said khukris are better at chopping than machetes.Which means that with a machete you have to force the blade to chop somebody's arm or sth else. It's a more......brutal blade than a khukri cause with a khukri or a katana or other well-sharpened blades you can kill others easily(as long asthey don't know your intentions).A machete is good if you wanna go on a bloodlust killing spree.
Also I don't like khukris's shape that's why I wouldn't choose em
best subtle killer is a toxic poison like fox glove any thing in the night shade family is useually good add in a lil buffotoxins and you got a mindless person ready to do your chores, smuther them under ground fer about 30 mins you got a real live zombie, no worrys they will die in a week of malnorishment too..... so nothing to worry about all you gotta do is rub the toxins on the inside of their elbow soft skin or put an extreemly low dosage on a dart tip and use blow gun or put it in your mitsubishi and throwit just try not to get it in your eye or you will die along with them
Yes, poisons are effective because they may not know if there poisoned, what poisoned them, and what antidote is needed, but when fighting an enemy army it is more effective for the enemy to require expensive medical treatment before dieing, putting a drain on the enemy’s resources.

I would have to say my katana, if you know how to use it you can easily close distance and kill before your enemy has time to fumble with a gun. and I've seen a katana blade cut a .50 cal. bullet in half (several actually, took little chips out of the blade but the blade cut around 7 of them in half before it shattered)
besides, a true ninja is bulletproof anyway! =) When in doubt, Stab 'em again!!
