Personally, I am a Christian (to be more specific, a Calvanist), and I believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ, died for your sins and I am willing to discuss/explain anything to help enlighten the eyes of everyone I can. Please discuss. (Also, I refused to put this discussion because it isn't "Random Junk," it's very important)
We agree on more than you realize. The reason you don't realize it is because you're looking at things through a twisted and biased haze. It stirs conflict that isn't even real.
If you ever want to truly understand the world, you're going to have to doubt your faith. Indeed, if you look at the most holy and devoted believers throughout history, they all went through a period in which they doubted God and their own faith. And I don't just mean on a trivial level, I mean they went through a period of their lives in which they rejected God and suffered greatly.
Doubt your faith. That's the only way you'll ever come to truly understand it.
wooo hoooo go atheism!!!!!!!! personally i think religion is a bunch of crap for lazy people who dont want to actually find answers for the things they dont know. any question about anything in the universe can be answered becasue god did it, because god made it, because god wants it
there is TONS of proof! they found the Ark, and Evidence of where Jesus went, they found the Lost mountain of God (where/when Moses got the Ten Commandments), etc. Plus, they keepproving evolution wrong.
They've found about four or five arks over the years. There is no archaeological evidence that Jesus existed besides a legal record regarding a crucification around the time we think Jesus lived. The events in the TaNaK are based on actual events that actually happened, so it's no surprise that Mount Sinai is an actual place which we've found. In fact, it was never lost... we've always known where it was.
Evolution hasn't been proven wrong ever. It has been improved upon over the years, but never proven wrong. Like I said earlier, the Theory of Evolution is among the most empirically proven theories in all the scientific community.
if Evolutiuon hasn't been proven wrong then why did they change it if it wasn't wrong. Dr. Kent Hovind said in one of his seminars: "The Big Bang Theory is wrong because:
1. If you burn a log, 99.998% of the matter is there, therefore we can safely assume that you can't get dust from a void where nothing existed and it starts gathering and spins extremely fast until it blows up and makes galexies and such.
2. Secondly, if it all spins the same way then why do 3 of the 7 planets in our solar system alone, spin backwards compared to the rest?
Well, what if God created the big bang and evolution?
And to be honest, i just use the bible as a guidebook to being a good person. I think that thats all the bible can offer (besides the belief that there is a 'God'. Im still questioning that.)
That being said, yes the Bible is a guide book to live. not to be a "good" person, because "good" all depends on your point of veiw. The Bible is about Gods point of veiw and following it.
