Personally, I am a Christian (to be more specific, a Calvanist), and I believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ, died for your sins and I am willing to discuss/explain anything to help enlighten the eyes of everyone I can. Please discuss. (Also, I refused to put this discussion because it isn't "Random Junk," it's very important)

Enlighten MY EYES! Put down that torch!

This is going to be very, very hard to explain to you. Partly because you'll make it hard. But as your 14 and your brain is still being built you have a chance. Please don’t make it hard and waste my time.

God vs. Evolution
First of all; do you know just as much about evolution as god? I'm betting that you know neither. So watch this movie, and if your parents start saying that anyone who doesn’t worship god is a devil or that god is the only truth, then you just say: "If I’m really right, then i should be able to prove it, and have nothing to fear".

This movie describes how people make gods, its what we do. That’s why there are so many religions, and even different sections of the same religion - Christianity. Each religion with its own believers, there are so may there is probably one that is alot like you.
Atheism
In Britain where i live now, everyone is left to make their own decisions on religion, You could say, that most people in Britain are born Atheists and allowed to make their own decisions about god. – Because atheism isn’t a religion and cant be taught in Sunday school.
My country is soo full of foreigners that everyone has one in their family at some point in their history. We are exposed to so many different ideas from all around the wide world that they all sound alike.

Everyone has their own reason for being atheist, but I infect was a Christian. The main reasons why I stopped was because I realised that you can make the bible mean what ever you want! You make god, good, funny, dangerous based on the way you want him to be.
The other problem was that the bible would contradict itself, one minute itd say do that, then it would say don’t do the same thing, which I noticed myself! Its like a teacher shouting DON’T SHOUT! But I wasn’t the only one, people all over the world were saying that the bible has contradictions.
If the bible has contradictions and god doesn’t make mistakes, then what’s going on? Then I learnt that the bible wasn’t written by God, or even buy Jesus, or even the Pope! It was written by 12 disciples! What a jip! How do they know what god wants! There just humans like me! That’s probably why there were soo many mistakes. And the bible is old, really old, you can’t say its holy just because its got old righting.

Then I learnt something very important, my mom tried to meditate (a form of praying that calms you down). She also did other things from different religions traditions, but it was all still to the same Christian God. I realised that Christianity isn’t in the bible, its in the churches, in the collection plates and in the minds, thoughts and dreams of Armageddon of all Christians. If it isn’t god that’s helping, and just them thinking he’s helping then what ells don’t I know!

The other major thing that made me reconsider my beliefs and understanding was that my life was really bad, rock bottom, people said “god helps those who help themselves” but things got worse, and worse and worse until they could only be worse if I was dead. Praying and waiting didn’t help! Nothing did. You cant say you believe in god until you’ve been through the worst things in your life, in anyone’s life… people I knew DIED, and that does mean more than one.
But just like Noah we persevered and gave more than we could to the collection plate to the sound of “give to the church and receive tenfold”. But things got better when I moved out of there. But I gradually prayed less and less, and then stopped. Every time I’m scared I now consider praying to god to help me, but I think of my past, and refuse to give in. And things get better, because now I’m old enough to make them better, without the help of some god who ignored my suffering when I needed him the most I will ever need him.
What about the afterlife?

Just wondering.
I as well.
It does, fact of life man. Get over it. Everything has a flaw somewhere. Especially a book written by a bunch of guys thousands of years ago.
I'm sad to hear that you refuse to acknowledge that it does have contradictions.
They are only contradictions to those who are either digging too deeply, or not deep enough. There is a degree of understanding about the Bible which you need to have. It does NOT contain contradictions.
I'm glad you said all you wanted in two posts. I couldn't care to stomach the fact that their may be more. If you want to target the phrase, "God helps those who help themselves', then you have to also consider the phrase "Life isn't fair." God does not need to prove himself and, therefore, needs to shed no miracles. This is in the context of a word called faith. You saying you won't 'give in' means that you're just scared that you'll be let down by someone who doesn't need to do anything for you. And saying that if someone is right, then they should be able to prove it is too wrong to say. It's not even just a religious bit, but the fact that there's plenty of things that no one can prove, but that doesn't mean it's true. The thing is that God helps in the afterlife and the biggest assistance he can give people like you, those who whine and bitch about there is no God just because your life sucks is death as that's the best release ever from your 'pains'. So while you have those nice thoughts of yourself as being released from religion, I'm going to enjoy the best gift that my Christian God ever gave me. Happiness.
You have to consider the fact that some people simply don't need God to be happy. This of course doesn't apply to every atheist out there, but there are many atheists and agnostics I know that seriously are doing just fine and dandy without the idea that there is an invisible hand guiding and controlling the Universe. And these are good people too, very courteous, kind, and hard-working individuals. Like I said, this can't apply to every atheist or agnostic, but I just know enough to know they're not all bad people.
No, God did not give you happiness. God did not walk up to you and say "Hey Kyle, Here's some happiness man, you deserve it. Thanks for praying." That didn't happen, because in your own words, God doesn't need to do it. Theology is an Idea, notice the root word theory. The IDEA of God makes you happy. The IDEA that God is looking out for you makes you feel safe and fulfilled. And that's cool man, more power to you, you're welcome to your set of beliefs and so am I. But the biggest problem I have with organized religion, namely Christianity, is that it insists there is only ONE correct way to believe, and the leaders of these religions are willing to shed blood over it. The fact of the matter is, there is no "Right" way to believe, believe how and what you want. Pray your way. If your God is truly worth worshiping, they shouldn't hold that against you. Read stranger in a strange land if you want to know where I'm coming from. Maybe it'll open your mind. Then again, maybe not.
