Alright, could I ask why though? I mean anime is like candy...(In the sense that there are so many that you are bound to like at least one) so I can't really see why you should rule out all anime.

I think anime is retarded too.
It's just so pointless.
And half the time I can't tell if it's a guy or a girl.
And I hate how most of them are printed.
And stupid costumes.
And squeaky voices.
And completely mundane situations and plot lines.

Have you seen Death Note? There are no ridiculous costumes outside of the gothic loli thing that Misa loves, only one character has a squeaky voice, and the plot is fairly good. I suggest at least reading the wikipedia page for an overview.
And I know what you mean by all of that...but while the good ones are few and far between, they are worth it and are a lot of fun to read/watch.

Yeeeah, it's not alllll retarded, but it just seems like an insane fad that I dun undershtand. :p I liked Yu-Gi-Oh for awhile. ;) I've 4gotten abt it now, lolz. Is the cartoon tv show "Avatar: The Last Airbender" considered anime?? Cuz it looks quite like anime, as far as my naive eyes can tell, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd me likes that show a lot! :p :)
