That would be the book I am currently reading because all of my friends have STOLEN my Twilight books. Thanks a lot. No, actually I'm glad you did it otherwise I wouldn't be reading To Kill A Mockingbird. Thanks Joe! I was in the middle of Wuthering Heights (AGAIN) and it was getting quite...repetitive. I want to know what YOU think of To Kill A Mockingbird.
Had to do it for english in my earlier years...Not a great book...Same with Wuthering Heights. Doing that now. Sure, it has shitloads of symbols and motifs, but hey. I dont care. Although the absolute love side of its cool
Isn't that why we all love it? The love story duh! I'm reading them for pleasure because that's just what Heidi does; it is so interesting talking in third person. That was off topic but oh well.
Yeah, but you have a point. calling yourself One, and talking about yourself in third person is pretty much something else. I find it fun sometimes.
But anyway. The books i guess are cool for the love stories, but i guess its the story based around them and shiz like that i dont like. I do like it in Wuthering Heights when...
*SPOILER*
Just in case people havent read it (or watched the movie), want to read it, and shiz like that (althoguh they may read this anyway....
I do like it in W.H when cathy dies and Heathcliffs just like....Cursing her. That was pretty cool.
I mostly agree. I have read them but only for school. They are not my preferred genre and I didn't really like them at all. But if I wanted a love story I would go read one but I never really do.
Sure, you can say that there is paternal and filial love expressed in To Kill a Mockingbird, but it is not a "love story" in the conventional sense. By "love story" we usually mean a "romance story", not the story of paternal/filial love. Besides, the story line was based about completely different things, and love played only a small part compared to everything else.
well, i dno...Depends on the way ya see it. It was one of those books that had a racial/love meaning behind it...Or did i not get it? Was it too long ago since i read this book i have no idea what im on about...
The book was clearly centered around the issues of race, bravery, tolerance and coming-out-of-age rites. Nothing about romantic love at all. Not even that much filial/paternal love.
And you could say it. Everyones free to their own opinion and everyone gets a different thing out of books, and different meanings. I wouldnt say theres one true meaning. Maybe the meaning a writer meant to put, but sure, thats not always the one everyone sees.
