Hi Katie!

You will be able to add your clans to your profile page by the end of the year

Best,
Rachel

Two things:

1) It would be nice if we could choose between threaded and non-threaded views
2) It would also be nice if we had an option to always show profiles in our own profile style, regardless of what the profile's settings are. Going from a black page suddenly to a pink or bright blue one is jarring.

I just added a blog post, and instead of being taken to a confirmation page or back to my profile or something I ended up on a white screen. I previewed and saved the post a bunch of times as well. The entry was posted, it just took me to a dead page when it happened.

Edit: How do I update my profile picture? I clicked on the link, and uploaded my photo, and it seems to have updated my picture in some places but not in others somehow. Am I just missing something?

Apparently if you begin editing before the 15 minutes are up, but you don't finish until after they're up, the process stops while it shows the "Saving..." text and never lets you know that you waited too long or anything. In follow-up, I finally got my browser to load my changed image in to the rest of the places, so I guess I just had to wait it out. I think a message upon returning to the AANF site that says "Image updated, but it may take a little bit to propogate" would be useful.

Edit: I can't find any place to remove friends. Does such a place exist?

Wow, that's ...really unintuitive. I had no idea what that icon did, and I was looking for a remove friend feature on the main friends page. I think there should be one there.

Thanks for your help!

Hey There:

We are making changes over the next few months to make it easier to manage your friends!

Alright, we'll forgive you ...this time...

Seriously though, Ning developers, please don't take all my comments as an indication that the site is in any way bad; I was a QA consultant for several months, and I'm currently a web developer with a company whose primary focus is client usability, so these are just things I notice easily. The site looks great, and all the Ajax makes it very slick. I salute everyone involved for making this site as great as it is.

Here's an interesting bug: if you go to page 3 of the comments for this discussion, the top one is me responding to myself. Unfortunately, since the post I'm responding to is on the previous page, you can't tell without clicking back to it what I'm responding to. I think in such cases the entire tree up to that point should be visible on the page, or else finish the tree on the previous page regardless of whether there's enough room to fit it there or not.

Also, is there a place where we can indicate how many posts we want to see on a page, in case I want to see 50 but someone else wants 10?

Related question: any chance of having people who are online listed before people who aren't?

This morning I received an alert email to this thread, but when I clicked the link I was told I wasn't logged in, even though I am. Then I noticed that the url was to askaninja.ning.com instead of fans.askaninja.com. I think for consistency the email link should always be to fans.askaninja.com (or www.askaninja.com after going live).

i'm not very computer savvy, but so far so good. its alot better than the old page, there was very little or no interaction between fans. myspace meets ask a ninja! very nice.

RSS feeds on clans?

Also, the ability to search for people by using not just their names, but also their interests, music, or tv shows.
