The accent thing isnt true...Some people think im a cross of an american/australian, or they just think im american or australian at times lol...I havent even been anywhere except further south of britain lol.
I can relate to having an odd Accent. I live In Upstate NY and have all my life and people are always asking me what kind of accent i have. Im not sure why ppl think that i have a strange accent maybe its because i have good diction which throws most new yorkers off Or maybe I truly do have my own uniquely constructed accent. I love accents but damn i cant stand ppl who mumble and then if you ask them to repeat themselves They dont get any louder or pronunceate oh that drives me crazy.
On the flip side All the British/English folks i have met which is a total of two Have been sweet kind and friendly persons. I have not had the pleasure to visit so i cant attest to their politeness but im sure you arent just makeing it up Just like canucks dont lock their doors you dont need to open every one to know its mostly true Im sure Well i ll ramble more later i did have some where i was going with all this it just escaped me at the Moment
I don't know many Americans so I don't like to judge because you can't represent a country with a minority as a base. The few I have met generally treated me like a total dumbass until they realised I generally kick ass and they decided to follow me around. Either way, I was worried that the provincial attitude was a general feel from Americans towards Brits as I have had similar experiences in about 3 accounts now.
The only other experience is from my Canadian relatives, which isn't really the same, is it?
Thats cuz ever since colonial times the British stereotype is of tea sipping fancy dressing pricks. Which I know isn't true lol. For the most part.... xD
Its not true for the most part, yeah. But hey, ive grown up in britain, and i even have english blood in me. But still, every time i hear brit, i think of a tea sipping, bowler hat wear, fancy dressed dude. Its weird that, hey?
